Encounters Smash Battles Energy & Charge

Encounters Smash Battles Energy and Charge system explained. Stamina costs, Ultimate activation, and resource management.

Energy and Charge are the two resource bars governing every action in Encounters Smash Battles. Energy powers movement and abilities. Charge powers your Ultimate. Mismanage either and you lose fights you should have won.

Energy (Stamina)

Energy regenerates automatically over time. Each action has a cost: Jump and Dash cost 10 Energy each. Basic attacks cost very little. Special attacks cost more — Kusanagi's Special costs 50 Energy, making spam punishable.

Guard drains Energy continuously while held. Release Guard when not actively blocking to preserve Energy for recovery dashes. Running empty mid-combo means you cannot jump or dash away from counterattacks.

Charge (Ultimate Meter)

Charge fills by hitting enemies with Basic, Special, and Unique attacks. At 100 Charge, your Ultimate (Q) activates. Ultimates are champion-defining — Construct's black mode adds 110% knockback to every attack.

Do not waste Ultimate at low opponent damage. Save it for finishing blows above 80% damage or as a panic reset when cornered near the edge.
