Every champion in Encounters Smash Battles shares the same four-ability structure. Understanding what each ability type does — and how Energy and Charge interact — is essential for combo building and Ultimate timing.

The Four Ability Types

Basic Attack (LMB): Low Energy cost. Builds damage percentage and Charge. Primary tool for stunlock combos.

Special Attack (RMB): Range and knockback focused. Higher Energy cost. Used for edge guarding and finishing opponents at high damage %.

Unique Attack (E): Champion-specific stronger ability. Variable Energy cost. Often the core of each fighter's identity — parries, teleports, traps.

Ultimate (Q): Requires 100 Charge. Devastating finisher unique to each champion. Game-changing when landed at high opponent damage.
