Combat in Encounters Smash Battles follows a damage-percentage system inspired by Super Smash Bros. Instead of health bars, champions accumulate damage that increases knockback from subsequent hits. The goal is launching opponents off the floating arena into the void below.

Every champion shares universal combat tools — dash, jump, guard — plus four unique abilities. Mastering both layers separates beginners from competitive players.

Core Combat Mechanics

Damage Percentage: Higher damage means stronger knockback. At 150%+ damage, even light attacks can launch opponents off-stage.

Lives System: Standard modes give four lives and a ten-minute timer. Lose all lives and you spectate. Training and Bot modes have different rules.

Void Death: Falling off the platform counts as a death regardless of damage percentage. Recovery is always possible until you run out of lives.

Universal Combat Tools

Dash (F): 10 Energy. Closes distance or aids recovery toward stage.

Jump (Space): 10 Energy per jump. Multiple jumps possible if Energy allows.
